Free Money for future Writing Academy Students!

Got your attention, didn’t we? Are you interested in advancing your writing career? Is your writing career just getting started? Read on for more information on how you can apply for one of three scholarships to the Golden Crown Literary Society’s Writing Academy.

Wanting to do something and not having the money for it just sucks. We’ve all been there. You finally find something that means the world to you, something that might help you start living your dreams and BAM. Crushed because you can’t afford the entry fee.

Of course, you’ll sometimes hear people say, “If you really wanted it, you’d find a way to make it happen.” And it’s true that you can learn the craft of writing without spending any money. There are all sorts of excellent pages such as Reedsey and The Book Doctors that offer fantastic free advice on improving your craft.

And there are Facebook groups and Twitter hashtags to connect you with other writers.

But there’s nothing like the GCLS Writing Academy when it comes to quality instruction, weekly classes, one-on-one mentoring, specific feedback, and a built-in community of colleagues with whom you can share triumphs, insecurities, calls for submissions, and advice.

The Writing Academy aims to be accessible to people from all kinds of socio-economic backgrounds. Writing talent should be nurtured and a person who is willing to put in the work to improve their craft deserves access to the tools to enable them to do so.

We offer a payment plan which allows people to spread out the tuition over a year. We have some member-funded partial scholarships available on request for those who are able to make payments but may need a little help.

And we’re fortunate to offer three full scholarships each semester. These scholarships are fully funded by private donation.
